Who this page is for
Owners and managers of ladies salons, beauty studios, tailoring and abaya workshops in Dammam, Khobar, Dhahran, Jubail, Qatif and Al Ahsa who are moving to new premises in the same city or another city, or closing one branch and moving its contents to another branch or a store room. For other types of shops see shop relocation.
What makes a salon move different
- Privacy: ladies salons cannot have a moving crew on site while clients are there. We schedule after closing or on a full closure day, with the premises empty of clients.
- Heavy and fragile at once: hydraulic salon chairs are heavy, large mirrors and glass displays are fragile, and products are liquids that can leak.
- Stock: hair colors, creams, oils and fragrances must be packed upright and kept separate from furniture.
- Downtime: every closed day costs money, so we plan for the new shop to be ready to receive before we load.
How we handle each item
Styling chairs and wash units
Chairs are wrapped in blankets with their metal bases protected and handled carefully because of their weight. Wash units connected to water and drainage are not disconnected by us; a plumber must disconnect them before the date, then we move them wrapped.
Mirrors and glass
Free-standing or already-removed mirrors are wrapped in protective layers with reinforced corner cartons and moved upright. Wall-fixed mirrors must be taken down by a technician first, as we do not remove fixtures from walls.
Products and stock
Containers go upright in boxes with dividers, lids are closed tightly and each box is labeled with its contents. Flammable or pressurized products are best moved by the owner according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Sewing machines and fabrics
Moving parts are secured and machines are covered, fabric rolls are wrapped in clean covers so they stay clean, and tables and shelves are dismantled where possible.
Within the city or to another city
We move salons and workshops within cities, for example within Dammam or within Khobar, and from any Eastern Province city to any city in Saudi Arabia. If the new premises are not ready, we can arrange temporary storage.
We move contents and dismantle and reassemble shelving, tables and removable furniture. We do not do plumbing, electrical work, interior fit-out or AC installation, and we do not use external hoists.
What we need for a quote
- Current and new shop address, floor and whether there is a lift or stairs.
- Number of chairs, wash units, mirrors, shelves and tables.
- Approximate stock volume (number of boxes).
- Sewing machines and how many, if any.
- A suitable time after closing, and whether the new shop is ready.
For the factors behind the price see our moving cost guide. If you also run a café or restaurant, see restaurant and café relocation.
