Moving in Saihat: a town between Dammam and Qatif

Saihat sits on the Gulf coast between Dammam to the south and Anak and Qatif to the north. Streets are narrower and the truck often cannot park at the door. Villas and duplexes

These usually have large majlis sets, several bedrooms and an annex or roof room. We split the crew between floors and label every box with the room it came from, so each mover knows where it goes in the new home without asking you every time.

Coastal humidity: how we protect your furniture

Being close to the sea means high humidity for much of the year. Humidity does little harm during a short drive; the damage happens when furniture stays sealed in plastic for days in a closed room or store. So we keep it simple:

• Wood and fabric get an inner layer of blanket or cardboard under the outer plastic, and we ask you to unwrap them within a day or two of arrival.
• Fridges and washing machines should be dried properly before loading so water does not collect inside and cause smells.
• Mirrors and glass are packed in cardboard with corner guards and travel standing up, not lying flat.
• If your furniture will be stored for a while before the new home is ready, tell us early so we choose packing that suits the storage period.

Bedroom and kitchen dismantling and assembly

On most Saihat moves the time goes into dismantling and reassembly, not the road. A full bedroom with a large wardrobe needs a technician who knows the fixing type (screws, cam locks, hinges), labels every part and bags the screws with the name of the piece. Moving one room or a few items

Not every job is a full house. Many requests are for a single bedroom, a sofa set and majlis going to the family home, or a fridge and washing machine for a new apartment. For these we send a smaller truck and fewer crew, and the price depends on the items, the distance and any dismantling and assembly. When is the best time to move in Saihat?

• Early morning is best in summer, before the heat builds, especially for upper floors without a lift.
• Weekends, the start of holidays and the back-to-school period are busy; booking a few days ahead gives you more choice of dates.
