The road to Rafha
The usual road from Dammam heads north towards Hafar Al Batin, then west to Rafha — roughly 700 to 800 km depending on the pickup point. What it means for you:
- A full day's drive: a loaded truck needs about a day on the road with stops, so we load early, or the evening before, depending on the unloading time.
- Dust: the route crosses open desert and dust storms happen on some days, so mattresses, sofas and appliances are wrapped in dust-proof layers in a closed truck.
- Winter: the north is much colder than the Eastern Province in winter, and early mornings and nights are very cold. We plan daytime unloading and protect sensitive electronics from extreme cold.
Housing in Rafha
Most homes in Rafha are stand-alone houses, floors and villas, with apartments in newer buildings. Stand-alone houses usually mean more majlis seating, floor cushions and carpets, and a yard where the truck can park close by. If you are moving into employer or military housing, you may need an entry permit or a fixed time — tell us early so we can schedule around it.
Practical tip: send the map pin of your Rafha home and a photo of the street entrance. It saves a lot of time on arrival, especially in newer districts where street names are not widely known.
