Who is this page for?
Al Jouf is a region in the far north of Saudi Arabia; its main towns are Sakaka, Dumat Al Jandal, Qurayyat and Tabarjal. Many people from Al Jouf work in the Eastern Province and later return home, while others move north for a government, teaching or healthcare post. Why the Al Jouf route needs its own plan
- Distance: Dammam to Sakaka is roughly 1,200 km or more by road, through the northern cities. It cannot be treated like a short move.
- Climate: the Eastern Province is hot and humid most of the year, while Al Jouf winters are cold and nights can drop sharply. You load in one climate and unload in a very different one.
- Several towns in one region: Sakaka, Qurayyat and Dumat Al Jandal are far apart, so we need the exact town and district before fixing an arrival day.

Homes in Al Jouf and what we ask
Much of the housing in Sakaka and Dumat Al Jandal is standalone houses, villas and family floors, and some families also have a farm or rest house outside town. Before arrival we need:
- A map pin for the home and whether the road is paved and suitable for a large truck.
- Whether doors, power and keys will be ready on arrival day.
- Whether some items go to a separate farm or rest house, so we can unload in two stages.
Packing for a long, cold-ending trip
- Bedrooms and wood: fully dismantled, hardware labelled, wrapped in blankets then stretch film.
- Appliances: fridge and washer emptied and dried a day ahead; after arriving in cold weather, let the fridge settle before switching it on, as the manufacturer advises.

Al Jouf back to Dammam or Al Ahsa

Quick checklist before heading north
- In winter, pack warm clothes and blankets for the first days before cartons are opened.
