What this page covers
This page is for household moves from any Eastern Province city (Dammam, Khobar, Dhahran, Jubail, Qatif, Al Ahsa) to Majmaah Governorate and the Sudair area north of Riyadh, including Majmaah, Zulfi, Hawtat Sudair, Tumair and Al Ghat, and back the other way. If you are going to Riyadh city itself, see Dammam to Riyadh movers; for Buraidah or Unaizah, see Dammam to Qassim movers.
The route: what to expect
This is a long-distance move. The approximate road distance from Dammam to Majmaah is over 500 km, slightly more to Zulfi, and the usual route runs via Riyadh before heading north. We plan it as an inter-region move, not a local job:
- Plan for a full day: loading in the Eastern Province in the morning, with arrival the same day or the next morning depending on home size and start time.
- Heavier securing inside the truck: hours of highway vibration mean straps on every tall item, heavy pieces at the bottom and fragile items cushioned between soft ones.
- Desert conditions: summer heat and occasional dust. A closed truck and full wrapping protect wood, fabric and appliances.
Note: distances and timings here are approximate and meant for planning. We confirm the actual schedule in writing once we know your volume and pickup point.
Who usually makes this move?
- Employees and teachers on transfer: typically a full house with a fixed start date. See also job relocation movers.
- Families returning home: after years in the Eastern Province, often with a majlis, a full kitchen and older furniture worth protecting.
- University students: moving to or from Majmaah University with a small load; our student movers page explains small-load moves.
- Farm houses and rest houses: on the edges of Sudair, where we need to know the last stretch of road.
What we need from you for an accurate quote
- Pickup city and district, and the destination town and district.
- Home type at both ends: apartment (floor and lift), villa, traditional house or ground floor.
- A rough room list, or photos of each room on WhatsApp.
- Whether bedrooms, wardrobes or kitchen units need dismantling and reassembly.
- Your preferred date and any flexibility.
- Whether you need short-term storage because the new home is not ready.
Packing for a 500 km trip
Light wrapping does not survive a long haul. Sofas and mattresses get thick plastic plus blankets, glass and mirrors get cardboard and corner guards, and kitchenware goes into divided cartons. Appliances travel upright, emptied and dried. More on furniture packing and appliance moving.
Dismantling and reassembly
Bedrooms and large wardrobes are dismantled in the Eastern Province, with screws and fittings bagged and labelled, then reassembled in Majmaah or Zulfi after unloading. If the new home is still being finished or cleaned, we can unload into one room and come back to assemble, or store part of the load with furniture storage. See furniture assembly for details.
Villages and farms around Majmaah
We usually can, as long as the final road can take a moving truck. Narrow dirt tracks or low gateways may need a smaller vehicle for the last part. Share the location pin and a photo of the entrance before moving day. We do not use external hoists; if a piece will not pass a staircase or door, we tell you in advance and plan dismantling instead.
