What makes a job relocation different
In an ordinary move you pick the date. In a job relocation there is a fixed start date at the new workplace, often only a short time after the transfer is confirmed. Often the employee moves first and the family follows at the end of the school term, or lives in temporary housing until the right home is found. This page is for government and private-sector employees, service members, teachers and company staff moving:
- From the Eastern Province to another city: such as Riyadh, Jeddah, Tabuk or Hafar Al Batin.
- From another city to the Eastern Province: into Dammam, Khobar, Dhahran, Jubail or Al Ahsa.
- Within the Eastern Province: for example Al Ahsa to Jubail after a change of work site.
Three common scenarios and how we plan each
1) Employee and family move together
A full move in one trip. We set loading day early enough before the start date and ask that the new home is ready on arrival.
2) Employee first, family later
The employee moves with a few items (a bedroom, essential appliances, a desk) and the rest of the home follows at the end of the school term. That is a two-stage move: a small move now and a full move later. See small moves for stage one.
3) The new home is not ready
You hand back the old home but have not yet rented or received the new one. The usual answer is furniture storage for a while, then delivery on handover — instead of paying two rents.
Paperwork and quotes for your employer
Some employers reimburse moving costs or ask for quotes before approval. We do not know every organisation's rules, so:
- Ask your employer in advance which documents they need for reimbursement and in what format.
- We send a written quote showing what the price covers: loading, dismantling and assembly, packing, transport and any storage.
- If you need a specific breakdown in the quote, tell us before we issue it.
Tip: do not wait for final approval of reimbursement before planning. Send photos and get your quote early — the last weeks before a start date are always the busiest.
Employer housing and compounds
Many people moving to or from the Eastern Province live in employer housing or gated compounds, which often have set moving hours, truck entry permits and elevator rules. Send us these conditions early so we can schedule around them. If your new place is partly furnished, tell us which items you will not need so they are not moved for nothing.
Where to start
Send us both cities, your start date, current and new home types, photos of the rooms, and whether you are moving in one stage or two. We will reply with a written plan and quote, and handle dismantling, packing, transport and reassembly. For all routes from the Eastern Province see intercity movers Saudi Arabia, and for a checklist moving preparation checklist.
