This guide is for households and employees relocating from Dammam, Al Khobar, Dhahran, Jubail, Qatif or Al Ahsa to Jeddah, and for anyone moving from Jeddah back to the Eastern Province. It is one of the longest domestic moves in Saudi Arabia: the truck crosses the country from the Gulf coast to the Red Sea. A coast-to-coast move needs a different plan from a local move or a short hop between neighbouring Eastern Province cities.

The Route and the Timeline
By road, Dammam to Jeddah is usually more than 1,300 km, typically via Riyadh and then west towards the Makkah region. A loaded truck does not cover that in one quick hop like a private car: the driver needs rest stops, and arrival time depends on the load and on when trucks are allowed into the city.
So before you book we agree three dates in writing on WhatsApp:
- Loading day in the Eastern Province (dismantling, packing and loading).
- Expected arrival in Jeddah.
- Unloading and reassembly day at your new address.
Clear dates matter more on this route than on any short move, because you are probably flying or driving separately and need to receive the truck yourself.

Packing for a Coast-to-Coast Move
Your furniture spends a long time inside the truck, first through desert heat and then into the humidity of the west coast. We therefore step up protection compared with a local move:
- Wood and wardrobes: moving blankets first, then stretch film, with corner guards and doors and drawers secured.
- Mattresses and sofas: sealed covers against dust and damp, and nothing heavy stacked on top.
- Appliances and TVs: each wrapped individually; screens travel upright with face protection.
- Kitchenware and glass: divided cartons, every piece wrapped separately, cartons marked fragile with an up arrow.
- Files and books: well-sealed, numbered cartons. Passports, contracts and valuables stay with you, not in the truck.

Arriving in Jeddah: What We Need to Know
Jeddah stretches a long way along the coast, and crossing it at rush hour takes time. "Jeddah" alone is not enough; please send a map pin and a few building details:
- Towers and newer apartment blocks: many ask you to book the lift or agree an unloading slot with the guard or building management.
- Newer northern districts: villas, duplexes and new buildings with wider streets, though some new blocks do not have working lifts yet.
- Older central areas: narrower streets and limited parking, so the crew may trolley items a short distance from where the truck can stop.
Large cities can restrict truck entry at certain hours, so we fix the arrival time with you in advance instead of leaving the truck waiting at the city edge.
Jeddah to Dammam: The Reverse Move
Plenty of families transfer from Jeddah to Dammam, Al Khobar or Dhahran for work. In that case the job starts in Jeddah: we schedule the crew and truck there, dismantle, pack and load, then deliver and reassemble in the Eastern Province. If Your Jeddah Home Is Not Ready Yet
It is common for the handover of a Jeddah flat or villa to slip after your Eastern Province move-out date is already fixed. We agree the fallback before loading: move the loading date, keep the furniture in short-term storage in the Eastern Province and send it once the home is ready, or move part of the household now and the rest later. Each option is priced differently and confirmed in writing.
What Drives the Cost of a Dammam to Jeddah Move?
We do not publish a fixed route price, because the route name alone says nothing about your home. The main factors are:
- Volume and number of trucks – the biggest factor on long hauls.
- Packing level – everything packed, or fragile items only.
- Dismantling and reassembly at both ends.
- Floors and lifts at the old and new buildings.
- Waiting or storage if loading and handover dates do not match.

Quick Checklist Before You Leave for Jeddah
- Pack a bag for two or three days (clothes, medicines, chargers, key documents) and keep it with you.
- Switch off and dry the fridge and freezer the day before loading.
- Get the Jeddah keys, or the landlord's or guard's number, before arrival day.
- Photograph valuable appliances before they are wrapped.
