What this page covers: moves from Al Ahsa Governorate (Hofuf, Mubarraz, Al Uyun, Al Jafr, the eastern and northern villages and more) to the Qassim region. Moving from Dammam instead? See Dammam to Qassim movers. For local moves, see movers in Al Ahsa.
Qassim is not a single city
Our first question is: which city in Qassim? Buraidah, Unaizah, Ar Rass, Al Bukayriyah, Al Mithnab and others are spread out, and the distance from Hofuf to Buraidah is roughly 700 km via Riyadh, more or less depending on the city and district. Knowing the exact destination helps us:
- Estimate travel time and a realistic delivery date.
- Understand the streets and access at your new home.
- Plan the load if it has to be delivered to more than one address. See multi-stop moves.
Loading in Al Ahsa
Hofuf and Mubarraz
Both cities have many villas and stand-alone houses, and some older homes have courtyards and narrow doors. We measure doors and corridors and dismantle anything that will not pass. For Mubarraz specifically, see movers in Mubarraz.
Villages and farm areas
Some homes in the villages or between farms are reached by narrow or unpaved roads. We ask for a location pin and a photo of the entrance, and if needed we agree on a nearby point where the large truck can stop.
Large family homes
Many Al Ahsa homes have large separate majlis rooms and lots of bedrooms. Floor seating, cushions and rugs need their own wrapping and careful loading. See majlis furniture moving.
The climate difference
Al Ahsa is hot and fairly humid for most of the year, while Qassim is noticeably colder in winter. Packing does not change much, but it matters for timing: early-morning loading is better in summer for the crew and for appliances, and in winter it helps to have the new home ready before the family arrives.
Get the Qassim home ready before the truck arrives
Many delivery-day delays happen because the new home is not ready to receive furniture. A few days before, check:
- Keys: with you, or with someone in Qassim who will receive the load.
- Power and water: connected, so appliances can be installed and tested.
- Finishing work: if painting or flooring is unfinished, it is better to delay unloading or use short-term storage.
- Room plan: decide which room is for whom and where the majlis goes, so everything is assembled in the right place the first time.
To protect the new home while unloading, see protecting floors and walls.
A plan for your situation
| Situation | Suggested arrangement |
|---|---|
| Large family house in Hofuf | One day to dismantle and pack, one day to load |
| Apartment in Mubarraz | Usually dismantle, pack and load on one day |
| Qassim home still being finished | Short-term storage, see furniture storage |
| Job transfer | Scheduled around your start date, see job relocation |
We do not use an external hoist. If your new home in Qassim is on an upper floor without a lift, send us the staircase width so we can dismantle large pieces in advance.
