What this page covers: moves from Jubail (Industrial City, Al Balad and surrounding areas) to Makkah. For moves inside Jubail or to other Eastern Province cities, see movers in Jubail. Going to Jeddah instead? See Jubail to Jeddah movers.
Who usually takes this route?
Many Jubail residents moved there for jobs in the plants and contractors around the industrial city. When a contract ends, a new role starts elsewhere, or a family decides to return to the Makkah region, the whole home has to cross the Kingdom. This is different from a local move in three ways: the distance is roughly 1,350 km or more, some housing areas in Jubail have gate and permit rules, and the moving date is usually tied to a fixed handover date for the old home.
Loading in Jubail: Industrial City is not Al Balad
Jubail Industrial City
Districts are well planned and streets are usually wide, but some compounds and employer-provided housing have gates, entry permits for trucks and workers, and fixed working hours. Ask your housing office for approval well before the date and tell us about any rules they have, such as protecting corridors or lifts.
Jubail Al Balad
The older town has more established homes and buildings, some narrower streets and lifts that may be small or missing. Here we agree where the truck will stand and plan to dismantle large pieces before carrying them down. See movers in Jubail Al Balad.
Handing back your home
Rented or company housing usually has to be returned empty and clean on a set date. We schedule loading at least a day before so you have time to clean and hand over. See end-of-lease moving.
On the road to Makkah
The truck covers a long distance, usually via Riyadh and then west, so we pack for it:
- Electronics and screens go into padded boxes and travel in the middle of the load.
- Dismantled wardrobe panels are secured flat so they do not bend.
- Personal and important items are separated so they travel with you, not in the truck.
Arriving in Makkah
Some Makkah districts are on slopes, and Ramadan and the Hajj season change traffic and may bring restrictions on certain roads. We ask for your new location pin, a photo of the entrance and the number of floors. We do not use an external hoist, so anything that will not pass through stairs or the lift is dismantled in advance.
| Situation | Suggested arrangement |
|---|---|
| Company housing with a fixed handover date | Load at least one day before handover |
| Makkah home not ready | Short-term storage, see furniture storage |
| Large family, lots of furniture | One prep day plus one loading day, see large family moves |
Tip: if your employer is covering the move, ask early which documents they need. We can send you the move details in writing.
What to bring and what to leave
On a long route every extra piece costs space and packing time. For each large item, ask: does it suit the new home in Makkah, will it fit the rooms, and is it in good enough condition? Many people in Jubail bought quick, light furniture when they first arrived for work, such as single beds or flat-pack wardrobes, and selling those locally can make more sense than moving them. Good bedroom sets, majlis seating and newer appliances, on the other hand, are worth proper packing. Send us a list with photos and we will help estimate the right truck size, and use our moving inventory list to label boxes by room.
