What This Page Covers
This page is for moves that start or end in Jubail Al Balad, the older town: house to house within Al Balad, Al Balad to the Royal Commission districts of Jubail Industrial City, or Al Balad to another city. For moves only between Royal Commission districts, see local movers within Al Jubail; for everything else in the city, see movers in Jubail.
Why Al Balad Moves Need Their Own Plan
Jubail Al Balad is the original town, and it feels very different from the planned districts of the Industrial City. You will find traditional houses, older apartment buildings, many of them walk-ups without a lift, tighter inner streets, and shops and markets that get busy at certain times of day. None of that makes a move hard, but it changes three decisions we make before the truck sets off:
- Truck size: on a narrow street, a smaller truck doing two trips is often faster than a large one that cannot park near the door.
- Dismantle first: stairwells in older buildings are usually narrower, so beds, wardrobes and large tables are taken apart inside the flat rather than forced down whole.
- Timing: we prefer an early start, before shops open and the street fills up, so neighbours are not blocked and the truck is not parked for long.
Housing Types in Al Balad and How We Handle Each
Traditional houses and ground-floor homes
Usually one main entrance and a courtyard, with interior doors narrower than modern furniture. We take off sofa arms and table legs where possible and bring big pieces out through the widest opening. Floor majlis cushions and backrests are wrapped in plastic and bundled so they stay clean during loading.
Walk-up apartment buildings
Here the staircase drives both time and cost. We split the crew: some in the flat dismantling and wrapping, some on the stairs, one at the truck stacking the load. Stair corners, rails and shared walls are padded, and heavy appliances such as fridges and washing machines go down on carrying straps, never dragged step by step.
Newer buildings with a lift
We ask for the lift size in advance, because long sofas and wardrobes with large doors may not fit even after dismantling, in which case they go down the stairs. Lift walls and floors are lined, and we coordinate with the building guard or owner if lift use needs permission.
Small shops and stores near the market
Shop and stock moves in Al Balad are usually done outside trading hours, early morning or after closing, so sales are not interrupted. Boxes are numbered by shelf, and racks and counters are dismantled and rebuilt at the new site. For offices and companies, see office movers in Jubail.
Streets, Parking and Busy Hours
Before the date we ask for your map pin and, ideally, a photo of the street and entrance. That photo answers the questions that decide the day:
- Can the truck stop right at the door, or do we park nearby and hand-carry a short distance?
- Is the street narrow, or lined with parked cars all day?
- Are there shops nearby that open at a set time and bring traffic with them?
Then we suggest the best slot. Early morning is usually the calmest time in Al Balad, and we avoid the busy hours around the markets. We do not block the street while loading: items are staged inside first, then loaded quickly so the truck can move on.
Before you book
One photo of your street and building entrance saves time and money, because it lets us send the right truck and the right crew size the first time.
Jubail Al Balad to the Industrial City (and Back)
This is the most common request we get from Al Balad: moving into Royal Commission housing in districts such as Al Fanateer, Al Deffi or Jalmudah, or moving back from the Industrial City to Al Balad. We treat it as a same-day local move, but the two parts of Jubail are not next door, so we:
- aim to load everything in a single trip so the drive is not repeated;
- confirm before leaving that the new home is ready, with power on and keys in hand;
- prepare crew names and the truck plate in advance if a company compound or gated housing asks for them, and keep to its entry hours.
Royal Commission districts are wide and parking there is usually easy, so the hardest part of the day is the Al Balad end; that is why we start there in the morning. For district-by-district notes, see our Al Jubail moving guide by district.
Jubail Al Balad to Dammam, Khobar or Another City
A move from Al Balad to another city starts with the same planning (street, stairs, dismantling), then adds distance and highway driving. Wrapping is heavier than for a local move, and the load is secured inside a closed truck so nothing shifts on the road. Depending on where you are going:
- To Dammam: movers between Dammam and Jubail
- To Khobar or Dhahran: Jubail to Khobar moving
- To Qatif or Saihat: Jubail to Qatif movers
- To Riyadh or anywhere else: intercity movers across Saudi Arabia
If there are a few days between handing over your old home and receiving the new one, your furniture can be stored in between; see furniture storage.
What We Need to Quote an Al Balad Move
There is no single price for every home, because a ground-floor house is a very different job from a fourth-floor walk-up. These details set the price and the time:
| Detail | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Location and street photo | Truck size and parking spot |
| Floor and lift | Crew size and carrying time |
| Large items (bed sets, wardrobes, sofas, fridge, washer) | Dismantling, reassembly and wrapping |
| Destination | Within Al Balad, the Industrial City, or another city |
| Services needed | Transport only, dismantling and assembly, or full packing |
| Preferred date and time | Choosing a quiet slot away from market rush |
Send these on WhatsApp and we will reply with a clear price before the date. If you only need dismantling and assembly, see furniture assembly in Jubail; for packing on its own, see furniture packing in Jubail.
Common Mistakes When Moving Out of an Al Balad Home
- Not mentioning the floor or the missing lift: the first estimate ends up inaccurate and the day runs long.
- Not measuring sofas and wardrobes: some pieces fit the old home but not the new door or staircase; measuring first tells us what must be dismantled.
- Booking at peak market time: parking takes longer and loading slows down; early morning works better.
- Leaving small items loose: closed, room-labelled boxes cut unpacking time in the new home.
- Forgetting the air conditioners: if any units need removing, tell us in advance so we come prepared.
