What makes a newlywed setup different
Setting up a marital home is rarely a simple old-home-to-new-home move. Items come from several places: a new bedroom set from one showroom, a sofa or majlis from another, personal belongings from both families’ homes, and gifts, hosting sets and crockery still in their boxes. The apartment may be brand new — the lift recently commissioned or finishing work still going on in the building. A clear schedule makes all the difference.
A suggested timeline before the wedding

Your new bedroom set
Some showrooms deliver and assemble, others do not. If you are collecting the set yourselves or it is stored at a family home, we pick it up flat-packed or dismantle and wrap it, then assemble it in the new apartment. Gifts, crockery and hosting sets
Many wedding gifts are fragile: coffee cup sets, plates, glassware, incense burners and ornaments. Boxed items get an extra protective layer if needed; unboxed ones are wrapped piece by piece. They are best moved in a separate stage after the large furniture is in place. See kitchen packing and moving.
Collecting from two family homes
When belongings come from the bride’s and the groom’s family homes, we schedule both pickups on the same day or two days depending on volume and distance, and label cartons with their room in the new apartment so nothing piles up in the living room. Someone from each home can hand over personal items.
Checking the new apartment
- Is the lift working, and may it be used for moving?
- Do the door and corridors fit the wardrobe and sofa?
- Are floors new and in need of protection while carrying?
- Are finishing crews still working in the building?

If your new home is in another city
Sometimes the groom works in Riyadh or Jeddah while the bride’s family is in Dammam or Al Ahsa. New furniture is then packed for a long trip; we usually move the bedroom set and sofa together in one early trip, with personal items and gifts later or with the family.
