Movers from Riyadh to Qatif

A long trip that ends in a neighbourhood

The distance between Riyadh and Qatif is around 400 km or more depending on the starting point. The trip itself is usually done in a day, but unloading in Qatif is what needs thought: the governorate includes a city, towns and varied districts, some houses sit on narrow streets, and a large truck may not reach the front door.

Arrival questions before booking

• Is the street where the house stands wide enough for a closed moving truck?
• Is parking in the district crowded, or do parked cars block the road?
• Do the door and entrance fit wardrobes and sofas?
• Is the house a single floor or several, and is the staircase narrow?
• Will someone receive us on arrival?

It is best to send a map pin and a photo of the street and the door. If the street cannot take the truck, we agree a nearby unloading point and carry pieces by hand.

Apartment versus standalone house

In an apartment we count floors and the lift; in a standalone house we count street width, the entrance and the inside stairs. Each needs different preparation: we dismantle large pieces when the entrance is narrow, and we number parts for reassembly at the destination. See apartment to villa moves if you are going from a Riyadh flat to a Qatif house.

Wrapping for a long trip

Glass and mirrors go in separate covers and stand upright, heavy pieces sit low, and furniture is strapped. For more see furniture packing in Qatif.

A typical moving-day timeline

• Early morning: the crew arrives in Riyadh and starts wrapping and preparation.
• Before noon: loading, strapping and departure.
• On the road: a short stop and a check of the load.
• Arrival: a call to the receiver and a decision on the unloading point.
• Evening: pieces carried in and dismantled furniture reassembled.
