Qatif Governorate is not one place
"From Qatif" can mean central Qatif, Saihat, Tarout Island, Safwa, or villages such as Awamiyah, Al Qudaih, Al Jish and Umm Al Hamam. Each has different streets and access, so this is the first thing we ask about before quoting:
| Area | What we need to know |
|---|---|
| Old quarters of Qatif and Tarout | Lane width and the nearest point a truck can stop, since some homes cannot be reached directly by a large truck |
| Newer districts and plans | Number of floors in the villa or flat and whether there is a lift |
| Saihat | Apartments, buildings and villas; being close to Dammam makes the Riyadh road easier |
| Safwa and northern villages | Extra travel time and a suitable entrance |
If the house is on a narrow lane, we may suggest a smaller vehicle to shuttle items to the main truck on the main road, or a longer hand-carry. We state this in the quote up front so there are no surprises.
The road from Qatif to Riyadh
The distance is roughly 400–450 km depending on where in the governorate you start and your Riyadh district. The truck heads towards Dammam and then the Riyadh highway, and normally arrives the same day if we load in the morning. That makes same-day reassembly realistic for medium loads; for large homes reassembly may finish the next morning.

What usually moves from a Qatif home
- Full bedroom sets and large wardrobes: dismantled with parts and screws labelled. See furniture assembly in Qatif.
- Majlis seating, sofas and rugs: wrapped in plastic and blankets against dust. For large rugs see rug and carpet moving.
- Appliances: fridges, washers and TVs transported upright and secured.
- Kitchenware: boxed with dividers for glass and ceramics.
Full move or partial move?
Not everyone moving from Qatif to Riyadh takes the whole house. Common cases:
- An employee starting in Riyadh first: moves a bedroom and basic appliances to a small flat while the family stays until the school year ends. Smaller load, lower cost, and a second move can follow later.
- A whole family relocating: all rooms, majlis and kitchen, usually a large truck plus a dismantling team.
- Splitting between two homes: part goes to Riyadh and part stays in the family home in Qatif. We confirm the pieces from photos before loading day so nothing gets mixed up.
A written list of what is moving is what makes the quote accurate and the day organised. For small loads see small moves.
Tips before moving day
- Fix the handover date in Qatif and the move-in date in Riyadh, with a spare day if possible.
- If your Riyadh flat is in a building, ask the watchman about lift times.
- Tell neighbours when the truck will park if the street is narrow.
- Keep official papers and valuables with you.
