What makes a Dhahran move different
Many Dhahran residents live in housing linked to their employer or university, in gated residential compounds, or in quiet districts of villas and duplexes. So the hardest part is usually not the road to Riyadh (about 400 km on a straightforward highway) but everything that happens before the truck leaves the gate:
- Entry permits: many compounds and institutional housing areas require the truck and crew to be registered in advance, sometimes for fixed time slots.
- Move-out procedures: some organisations inspect the home before handover, so we schedule loading well before the inspection.
- Furniture owned by the housing provider: if your home is partly furnished, tell us exactly which items are yours. We move only your belongings and leave the provider's furniture in place.
The road to Riyadh
Compared with routes to the west of the Kingdom, this is a short trip, so in many cases we load in the morning and deliver in Riyadh the same day, depending on volume, when loading finishes and traffic into the city. That does not mean lighter packing. Highway speed and vibration are the same, so every glass or wooden item is wrapped as it would be for a long-distance move.
Arriving in Riyadh
Timing your arrival
Traffic inside Riyadh is heavy at peak times, so we plan to arrive outside them where possible and ask for your exact location to choose the best route for the truck.
Apartments
If your new home is in a building, ask the landlord about the lift and permitted moving hours. We do not use an external hoist; large items are dismantled to pass through stairs or the lift.
New villas
If the villa is new, protect the floors before unloading. See protecting floors and walls during a move.
