Who is this page for?
This page is for families and professionals relocating household furniture from the Eastern Province to Taif: someone transferred to a job in Taif, a family returning to a family home there, or retirees who want Taif's milder climate. It is equally for people moving the other way, from Taif to Dammam, Khobar, Jubail or Al Ahsa. The trip normally runs through Riyadh and then along the Riyadh–Taif highway, so it needs more planning than a move within one city.
If you are actually heading to Makkah, see movers from Dammam to Makkah; for the Red Sea coast, see Dammam to Jeddah movers. All other destinations are listed on our intercity movers page.
What makes the Taif route different?
Taif sits high in the Sarawat mountains, and its weather is noticeably cooler than the Gulf coast, especially at night and in winter. In practice that affects a move in three ways:
- Distance: the road trip is well over a thousand kilometres, so furniture spends many hours in the truck and must be strapped so nothing shifts.
- Climate change between ends: loading happens in hot, humid Eastern Province air and unloading in drier, cooler air. We wrap wood and appliances in layers that stop rubbing and reduce condensation inside plastic.
- Housing type: many homes in Taif are villas, floors in family houses or standalone homes, some in older neighbourhoods with narrow streets. We need to know the access road and where the truck can park before arrival day.
Planning table by home size
| Move size | Prep time in the Eastern Province | What we need from you | Practical note |
|---|---|---|---|
| One room or a few items | A few hours | Photos and rough sizes | We suggest the best option after seeing photos |
| 2–3 bedroom apartment | One working day | Floor and lift at both ends | Full packing for appliances and glass |
| Large apartment or full floor | One day with a bigger crew | Number of bedrooms and majlis rooms | A larger truck may be needed |
| Whole villa | One to two days | A short video walkthrough | We prefer a separate day for unloading and assembly in Taif |
The table is a planning guide only. Actual dates are confirmed after we see your inventory and know when your Taif home will be ready.
Arriving in Taif: what we ask before departure
Taif is spread out, with older districts near the centre, newer schemes on the edges, and areas such as Al Hawiyah, Al Shafa and Al Hada that each have their own access conditions. Before the trip we ask for:
- The district and a map pin, and whether the street can take a medium or large truck.
- Whether the home is a villa with a narrow internal staircase or an apartment with a lift, and which floor.
- Whether power, doors and keys will be ready on arrival day.
- Who will receive the truck if you are still driving when it arrives.
With these details we can usually unload and reassemble on arrival day instead of leaving the truck waiting.
Packing for the Taif trip
- Bedroom sets and wardrobes: fully dismantled, hardware bagged and labelled per piece, panels wrapped in blankets then stretch film.
- Sofas and majlis seating: dust covers, then blankets or cardboard on corners and legs.
- Fridge and washing machine: emptied and dried the day before, doors secured. See appliance moving.
- Kitchen and glassware: reinforced cartons with dividers; our method is on the kitchen packing guide.
For packing levels in general, see furniture packing.
Taif to the Eastern Province
Many families move from Taif to Dammam, Khobar or Jubail for jobs in industry or with Aramco. We load in Taif and unload in the Eastern Province with the same steps. Tell us about the new home: many Eastern Province apartments have small lifts, and some residential compounds have entry procedures for trucks and workers that must be arranged in advance. Moving into Khobar or Dhahran? See movers in Khobar or movers in Dhahran.
What decides the cost of a Dammam to Taif move?
We do not publish a fixed price because no two moves are the same. The quote depends on:
- Volume and number of large pieces (bedrooms, wardrobes, majlis sets).
- How many items need dismantling and reassembly at both ends.
- The packing level you choose.
- Floors, lifts and access at both homes.
- Whether you need temporary furniture storage.
Send photos on WhatsApp and you will get a written quote showing what is included before you book.
Quick checklist before travelling to Taif
- Pack a bag for two or three days, with warm clothes in winter.
- Keep documents, gold and cash with you, not in the truck.
- Label every carton with the room it goes to in the new home.
- Photograph appliance connections before disconnecting.
