Who this page is for
This page is for households moving between the Eastern Province and Al Qunfudhah governorate on the Red Sea: teachers and employees transferred to Al Qunfudhah or one of its centres, families returning home after years of work in Dammam or Jubail, and people moving the other way for work or study in the Eastern Province.

What makes the Al Qunfudhah route different
- A very long drive: roughly 1,400 to 1,600 km by road depending on the route and pickup point, so your furniture spends more than a day in the truck. Every item must be secured and the load balanced so nothing shifts.
- Humid at both ends: both the Eastern Province and Al Qunfudhah are humid coastal areas, while the road crosses hot, dry interior. Temperature swings can cause condensation inside tightly sealed plastic, so we use breathable layers for wood and mattresses and only load appliances that are fully dry.
- Outlying centres and villages: many addresses around Al Qunfudhah need an exact map pin and directions for the last stretch, and some suit daytime unloading only.
- Home types: many homes are floors or stand-alone houses with majlis seating, so we take care wrapping floor seating and carpets against moisture.
Planning a trip this long
We do not recommend rushing a route this long. We agree three written dates: loading day in the Eastern Province, expected arrival, and unloading and reassembly day in Al Qunfudhah. The new home should be ready and open on arrival, or tell us early if you need furniture storage before handover.
Practical note: carry official documents, jewellery, medicines, work equipment and a bag for several days in your own car. Your furniture will usually arrive after you, so do not rely on it for the first night.
Packing for humidity and distance
- Wood and bedroom sets: fully dismantled, fittings labelled, wrapped in layers that stop rubbing — without sealing wood in plastic for days.
- Mattresses and sofas: clean covers against dust, stored where nothing heavy sits on them.
- Appliances: fridges and washing machines emptied and dried at least a day ahead — see appliance movers.

Al Qunfudhah to the Eastern Province
We also move the other way. If you are relocating from Al Qunfudhah to Dammam, Khobar, Jubail or Al Ahsa, send your current address and details of the new home. Much housing in the Eastern Province is multi-storey apartments, so we check the elevator and its size before quoting. We do not use an external hoist, so we rely on dismantling and moving through stairs or elevators.
