Moving a villa is not like moving an apartment
A villa usually has two or more floors, separate majlis rooms for men and women, large bedrooms with big wardrobes, a main kitchen and sometimes an outdoor one, plus garden and roof furniture. At that size a villa move needs to be divided and sequenced, not just loaded. This page is about villa moves in Dhahran; apartments have their own page, apartment movers in Dhahran, and the general service is on movers in Dhahran.
Where Dhahran's villas are and what differs
| Area | Housing | What we plan for |
|---|---|---|
| Al Qusur and Dhahran Hills | Large walled villas with gardens and driveways | Truck position inside the yard or at the gate; protecting floors and stairs |
| North and South Al Doha | Villas and duplexes side by side on residential streets | Street width and not blocking neighbours during loading |
| Residential compounds and employer housing | Villas inside gated, guarded compounds | Entry permits, permitted working hours and handover after move-out |
Not sure of your compound's rules? Ask management about moving-truck entry times before fixing a date.
How we sequence the work
- Upper floor first: bedrooms and wardrobes are dismantled, packed and brought down first, while the stairs are still clear.
- Majlis rooms: sofas, floor seating and rugs are wrapped and staged near the entrance.
- Kitchen: dishes and glassware in numbered reinforced cartons — see our kitchen packing guide.
- Appliances: emptied and dried the day before.
- Garden and roof: outdoor tables, chairs and play equipment go last, and we ask that they are clean and dry.
Every carton is numbered and labelled with its room in the new home so the unloading crew knows exactly where it goes.
Stairs, doors and large pieces
Villa staircases can be curved or tight at the turn, and some wardrobes and beds only pass once dismantled. We do not use external cranes or hoists, so we assess large items from photos in advance and decide what needs full dismantling. Details on furniture assembly in Dhahran.
We protect banisters and marble floors with blankets where needed, because scratches in a villa you are handing back can cost more than the move itself.
Where are you moving to?
- Within Dhahran: a medium villa can often be moved and reassembled in one day, depending on contents.
- To Khobar or Dammam: a short drive, so planning focuses on access at the new home — see villa movers in Khobar and villa movers in Dammam.
- Downsizing to an apartment: we help you decide what will not fit; temporary storage may suit the extras.
- Another city: full packing and planned loading and arrival days — see our intercity movers page.
Handing back the old villa
If the villa is rented, the landlord or compound management will usually inspect it before returning your deposit. We organise the work to make handover easier:
- We take down only curtains, shelves and fittings you installed, once you point them out, and leave the landlord's fixtures in place.
- Wall hooks and screws you want to keep go into a separate bag.
- Doors and corners are protected while large pieces come out.
- We finish with rooms empty so you can check them before returning the keys.
If your lease ends close to the new home's handover, see moving at the end of a lease.
What decides the cost of a villa move?
- Number of floors, rooms, majlis areas and overall contents.
- How many bedrooms and wardrobes need dismantling and reassembly.
- The packing level.
- Distance to the new home and its type.
- Compound procedures and permitted working hours.
We do not publish fixed prices; a short video walkthrough on WhatsApp is usually enough for a clear quote.
