What this page covers
Moves from Eastern Province cities to Al Aflaj Governorate (Layla and its villages), Hawtat Bani Tamim and Al Hariq in southern Riyadh Region, and back. For Al Kharj see Dammam to Al Kharj movers; for Wadi Al Dawasir or Sulayyil see Dammam to Wadi Al Dawasir movers.
A long route: what it means for your furniture
The road distance from Dammam to Layla is roughly 700 km or more depending on the route, with Hawtat Bani Tamim and Al Hariq a little closer. The usual route runs via Riyadh or Al Kharj and then south. That means:
- A full travel day: loading in the Eastern Province, with arrival usually by the end of the day or the next morning, depending on home size and start time.
- Full packing, not partial: hours on the road are enough to scratch any unprotected piece, so we recommend wrapping all wooden furniture, sofas and appliances.
- Road heat: in summer, temperatures inside trucks on desert roads rise; a closed truck and wrapping reduce the effect, and heat-sensitive items such as candles are best carried separately.
Note: distances are approximate for planning. We confirm loading and expected arrival in writing before moving day.
Who moves to Al Aflaj from the Eastern Province?
- Families from Al Aflaj who worked in Dammam, Jubail or Al Ahsa for years and are going home, usually with a full house including a majlis and kitchen.
- Employees and teachers transferred to Al Aflaj or Hawtat Bani Tamim; see job relocation movers.
- Farm owners moving furniture or appliances to a farm house; we need the farm location and road conditions.
Moving from Al Ahsa to Al Aflaj
Some customers live in Al Ahsa, and the route from there towards Al Kharj and Al Aflaj can differ from the Dammam route. Tell us the exact pickup point so we can plan the route and timing. For moves inside Al Ahsa see local movers in Al Ahsa.
Dismantling and reassembly
Bedrooms, wardrobes and large tables are dismantled with screws and small parts bagged and numbered with each piece, then reassembled on arrival. If we arrive late in the day and agree on it, we unload and assemble bedrooms first so the family can rest, then finish the rest. See furniture assembly. We do not use hoists; large items are dismantled to pass doors and stairs.
How to reduce the cost of a long move
- Get rid of cheap old furniture before the move instead of paying to transport it hundreds of kilometres.
- Box up small items yourself if you have time, and leave fragile packing to us.
- Stay flexible on the date by a day or two if possible.
- Send clear photos of every room so the quote is accurate from the start.

Homes in Al Aflaj: what to expect on arrival
Many homes in Layla and nearby villages are villas or ground-floor houses with yards, which makes truck parking and unloading easier, but some older areas have narrow streets and low outer gates. Send a photo of the entrance and street before the date so we know whether the large truck can reach the door or items need carrying a short distance. If the new home still needs cleaning or maintenance, we can unload into selected rooms, cover the furniture and finish arranging later.
Information we need for a quote

- Home type and floors at both ends.
- Room photos or a list of large items.
