When does a mosque or prayer room need moving help?
- Renovation: carpets, shelves and chairs taken out temporarily during works and returned afterwards.
- Carpet replacement: moving the old carpet to wherever the responsible party decides after the new one is fitted.
- Company and compound prayer rooms: when the company moves building or the prayer room is rearranged.
- Women's and school prayer areas: moving partitions, shelves and carpets to a new space.
Important: mosque furniture is often an endowment (waqf), and decisions about moving it belong to whoever is responsible for the mosque. Our role is execution only: we work with the authorised person or body (mosque administration, charity or company management) and move items to where they decide.
Contents and how we handle them
| Item | How we move it |
|---|---|
| Qurans and mosque books | Packed upright in clean new boxes, nothing placed on top, each box labelled with its contents and shelf |
| Mosque carpet (long rolls or pieces) | Surface dust removed, rolled one way and wrapped in plastic against dust and damp |
| Quran shelves and wooden cabinets | Emptied first, dismantled if possible, corners protected |
| Chairs for the elderly and small tables | Legs wrapped, stacked and counted for redistribution |
| Partitions and shoe racks | Dismantled or moved whole depending on size |
We do not remove fixed installations such as built-in sound systems or air-conditioning units; specialist technicians handle those before moving day. Portable speakers and equipment can be moved once disconnected.
Timing around prayers
The work must not disturb worshippers, so we agree with the mosque administration to:
- Work in the longer gaps between prayers, such as after Fajr or between Dhuhr and Asr depending on the season.
- Split the job over several sessions for large mosques, keeping an area ready for prayer.
- Work continuously in one day if the mosque is closed for renovation.
For company prayer rooms we schedule with management outside office hours or at the weekend when needed, as we do for office moves in Dammam.
Temporary storage during renovation
If the mosque will be closed for a while, the responsible party may need somewhere to keep carpets, shelves and Qurans. We offer furniture storage once the period and details are agreed, and return everything when works finish. Stored carpets are rolled and wrapped to protect them from damp and insects.
Large mosque carpets
Mosque carpets are not like home rugs: long, heavy, wide rolls, or glued-down carpeting. We move carpet once it has been lifted or unfixed; we do not remove glued carpet or cut and fit new carpet, which is work for carpet fitters. See rug and carpet moving, and for large book collections see book and library movers.
Where we work
We move mosque and prayer room furniture across Eastern Province cities including Dammam, Khobar, Dhahran, Jubail, Qatif, Saihat and Al Ahsa. That can be a move within the same mosque (from the main hall to a store or temporary prayer area), from a mosque to a location chosen by the responsible party, or from a company prayer room to the new building. Small prayer rooms in buildings and compounds are usually quick jobs for a small crew; for large mosques we decide crew and vehicles after a photo inventory or a visit.
