Scope of this page: questions to ask any moving company in Dammam, including us. For a regional guide see how to choose a moving company, and to understand what drives the price see what sets the price of moving in Dammam.
Why you need a list of questions
Most moving problems do not come from bad intent but from vague verbal agreements: “loading and unloading” with nobody saying who dismantles the beds, a price that does not mention the floor, a time with no hour. So write the questions below and keep the answers in a text message you can return to if there is a disagreement.
Ten questions to ask any company
- What exactly does the quote include: loading, transport, unloading, dismantling, reassembly, wrapping?
- How many workers are assumed, and for what floors and lifts?
- Does a technician dismantle and reassemble beds, wardrobes and kitchens, or is that left to you?
- What kind of truck is used? Is it closed, protecting furniture from dust and sun?
- How are wooden pieces, glass and appliances wrapped, and with what materials?
- What happens if a piece is damaged? Is there a written guarantee and how is a complaint raised?
- Is the price final or can it change on the day, and under what conditions?
- Do you survey by photos or a visit before quoting?
- What is the arrival time and the expected duration, and can a time window be fixed?
- Can I reach you by phone and WhatsApp on the same number before and during the move?
Warning signs worth stopping for
- A single phone number with no website or page explaining the service.
- A “very low” price with no explanation of what it covers.
- Refusal to put the agreement in writing, or only “everything will be fine”.
- A large deposit asked up front with no document or message proving the deal.
- No questions about the floor and the lift, which means the quote is random.
- A promise to move anything in any condition without a survey, including items that cannot move without dismantling.
We do not ask for a large deposit before the survey, and we confirm what we agree in writing on WhatsApp.
How we answer these questions
With every customer we set what the quote includes, survey pieces by photo or visit, use closed trucks, wrap pieces by material and provide assembly when needed. We do not give fixed prices before we know your move, and any change in price has a clear reason such as a different floor or number of pieces. We do not provide cranes or exterior lifts and we say so before booking. See movers in Dammam for the service details.
A small test before booking
Send photos of three large pieces and ask how they will be moved and wrapped. A company that answers with details about material, dismantling and carrying knows its job. A company that says “do not worry” without detail probably has no plan. Try this with us too and we will answer in clear steps.
What is specific to Dammam
Dammam is a hot coastal city, and humidity and dust are part of the climate, which shapes your questions. Ask how electronics are protected from heat inside the truck, whether wooden pieces and upholstery are covered against dust, and whether the move can be scheduled for early morning or after the afternoon to avoid the hardest heat. If you are moving between Dammam and another city, ask how rest stops are arranged and where the truck stays if the road is long.
One last step: write down the agreement
After you agree with any company, send a message summarising what you agreed: date and hour, both addresses, the floor and lift, what the price includes and excludes, and the name of the person who will contact you on the day. If the company replies with confirmation you have a clear reference. If it avoids writing, that is a signal worth reconsidering. To prepare the home see the moving preparation checklist.
