Why the choice deserves time
Your furniture represents years of purchases. Choosing the wrong mover can mean broken pieces, a wasted day, or a price that changes at the last minute. The cheapest number on its own tells you little — what matters is knowing exactly what you get for it. The sections below help you compare offers fairly.
Questions to ask before booking
- Is the quote written and itemised? Ask for it by WhatsApp or message, listing what is included.
- Does it include disassembly and reassembly? How many beds and wardrobes? The kitchen?
- What packing level? Who supplies cartons, bubble wrap and stretch film? Is glass and TV packing dedicated?
- How many crew and what truck size? Is the truck closed?
- What if there is no lift? Is that already priced in?
- When will they arrive and roughly finish?
- What happens if something is damaged? Get the answer in writing.
- When and how is payment made? Is there a deposit?
Comparing two quotes
| Item | Ask about | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Disassembly & assembly | Number of pieces covered | Some low quotes exclude it |
| Packing materials | Type and who supplies | Weak packing causes most breakages |
| Crew | Number and experience | Affects time and handling |
| Truck | Closed or open, size | Dust, heat and rain |
| Floors & lifts | Included in the price? | Avoids surprise extras on the day |
| Timing | Arrival and finish time | Plan your day and key handover |
When two quotes differ a lot, it is usually because one leaves out items the other includes.
Red flags
- A firm final price on the phone without photos or questions about the home.
- Refusal to write down what the price includes.
- Asking for the full amount upfront before any work.
- No fixed contact number for after the move.
- Vague “everything included” promises with no detail.
- Pressure to book now because the “offer ends today”.
Classified-ad listings can be useful, but ask any provider the same questions.
Extra questions for intercity moves
- Will the truck leave straight after loading or wait for other loads?
- What is the expected arrival time, and how will they keep you updated?
- Is the packing suitable for long, hot and bumpy roads?
- Who reassembles furniture at the destination?
- What if the new home is not ready — is short-term storage available?

Help the mover give you an accurate price
The clearer your information, the more accurate and stable the quote: photos or a short video of each room, floors and lifts at both homes, large and fragile items, distance and preferred date. Full preparation tips: moving preparation checklist.
How we answer these questions
At Dar El Hana we send a written quote after seeing photos or details, stating disassembly and assembly, packing level and timing. We do not publish fixed prices because every home is different; we explain the price factors instead. We also do not offer services we do not actually provide, such as external hoists. See residential moving and furniture packing, or contact us directly.
