Why Antiques Are Not Moved Like Ordinary Furniture
On a standard move we wrap furniture in a standard way that suits most items. Luxury pieces and antiques each have their own weak point: marble breaks under the wrong load, old wood cracks under pressure, paintings suffer from touch and damp, and chandeliers come apart with vibration. So we start by assessing each piece from photos before quoting, then decide how it will be packed and loaded.

Assessment Before Pricing
We ask for clear photos of each valuable piece from several angles, rough dimensions and weight if you know it, and any notes on condition (an old crack, a loose joint, a restored part). This does two things: we choose the right packing method and crew size, and the item's condition is documented before the move so both sides are clear.
Very large or heavy pieces that may need a special solution, such as a custom-made wooden crate, are discussed with you before quoting, and we explain honestly what is and is not possible.
Inside the Truck: A Different Layout
- Valuable items are loaded in a fixed, separate spot with nothing on top.
- Marble, paintings and glass travel upright and strapped.
- Pieces are separated with blankets or soft boards so they never rub.
- On intercity moves such as Dammam to Riyadh, we increase protection because vibration lasts for hours.
Luxury Majlis Seating and Velvet Sofas
Formal majlis seating and sofas in premium fabrics (velvet, natural leather, embroidery) are not handled like ordinary sofas. Light fabrics mark at the first touch, and leather suffers if left in the sun. We cover them with clean dust covers before blankets, avoid putting tape directly on fabric or leather, and carry rather than drag them. In large villas we usually move valuable pieces first, before the general furniture, so they are not caught in busy corridors.
What You Should Do
- Tell us about every valuable piece from the start; do not leave one among ordinary items without warning.
- Carry very small, very valuable items (jewellery, watches, small ornaments) yourself.
- If your valuables are insured elsewhere, check the policy terms before the move.
- Have an electrician disconnect chandeliers and hanging lights before moving day.
- Decide where each piece goes in the new home so it is not moved twice.
